Althodis
(Ohodasz - Stari Hodas) - District of Oberwart. Village of only 160 inhabitants. Part (Ortsteile) of the municipality of Markt Neuhodis (municipal records) (888 inhabitants and 341 houses in all).

Mentioned in Urbars of the 15th & 16th centuries as "Pusta Hodasz." Settled by Croats in 1576 (Walachians). Durnbach records of 1713-1720 show both Croat and German names. Has a non-parish church "Zur Kreuzerhöhung" built in 1966 on the site of an ancient wooden bell tower. Part of the parish of Dürnbach. Part of the early "Wart" defensive system. Croat majority, German minority.
