Developing a website like this is not a one-person job. It requires a substantial amount of time and effort from a team of people who must gather the information and organize it in a meaningful way. |
In this case five people especially need to be singled out for the work they did to make this website a reality. They are: |
Frank Klepeis and Tom Steichen - who served as the website designers and dealt with all the technical aspects relating to its development and maintenance; |
Anton Traupmann - who served as the website’s inspiration and provided extensive information on many of the people included in the original Remembrance List for New York; and |
Bob Strauch and Margaret Kaiser - who spent countless hours visiting cemeteries, researching databases and culling through other resource materials to identify deceased Burgenländers and their grave locations for the various Remembrance List modules. |
Additionally, there were a number of people who provided information about deceased Burgenländers, which served to enhance the quality of the Remembrance List. Special thanks to Eva Hergovich, Rosie Zach, John Issowits, Lillian Gross, Veronica Debiak, Joan Hofmeister, Frank Teklits, Richard Potetz, Dennis Paukowits and Steve Paukowits for contributions and thoughtful suggestions.
