Großpetersdorf: Marriage Records
These databases are courtesy of BB member Patrick Kovacs.
The transcriptions of Großpetersdorf records from the Großpetersdorf Catholic records is for the years
1797 to 1895 and consists of two complete transcriptions, one of the 587 marriage records from 1797 to 1827 and
another of the 1211 marriage records from 1828 to 1895. Copyright of both remains with Patrick Kovacs. The first
transcription set (1797-1827) bridges the gap between the Matriken.at records (1711-1796) and the FamilySearch
records (1828-1895).
The transcription of Großpetersdorf records from the Großpetersdorf civil recording district records is
for the years 1895 to 1920 and consists of the complete transcription of the 530 marriage records. Copyright

Name spellings (both surname and given names) have been standardized in some of these datasets to allow easier searches;
you should check the original image for the exact form that appears in the records. [Standardized means only that
a single form of a given name, or of what is believed to be the same surname,
is used in the records, regardless of what was recorded.]
While the main transcription of the 1828-1895 marriage records is from the duplicate images on FamilySearch, it
has been supplemented by Patrick, when missing, with parental names from the original records. Patrick also
provides correction of some data, with the original data surrounded by % symbols like this: %data%, and the corrected or
additional data in braces: {corrected/added data}. A plus sign (+) after a name indicates that the parent was deceased
at the time of marriage.
Großpetersdorf was also known by the Hungarian names Nagy-Szent-Mihály and
Nagy-Német-Szent-Mihály, the Croatian name Veliki Petrštof and the Romanes name Simeha. The name
Großpetersdorf is used for all entries in this collection (regardless of the variation entered in the
original record).
