Mischendorf: Catholic Birth and Death Records
and Civil Marriage Records
These databases are courtesy of BB member Patrick Kovacs.
The transcription of Mischendorf Catholic birth records is for the years 1815 to 1827 and consists
of the complete 881 records. The transcription of Mischendorf Catholic death records is for the
years 1817 to 1827 and consists of the complete 514 records. Copyright for both remains with Patrick Kovacs. These years
were chosen to bridge the gap between the index on Genteam (births 1715-1814, deaths 1715-1816) and the
FamilySearch duplicates (1828-1895). The source for these transcriptions are the original Mischendorf Catholic
record images available on matriken.at.
The Mischendorf Catholic parish included itself [Mischendorf (Hungarian:

- Kleinzicken (Hungarian: Kis-Ciklény, Kis-Cziklin, Croatian: Mali Cikljin),

and

Orbica).
Notes to these Catholic transcriptions:
[ ] indicate additions/corrections made to the original record by a priest
{ } indicate additions/corrections made during transcribing by the transcriber, with % % indicate the text that
the transcriber is correcting
Corrections appear in the "Annotations" column but additions in any column
Correction of the mother's surname usually indicates a prior married name was recorded; correction is the maiden
surname
+ indicates the person was deceased
? Indicates the record was not clear so the transcribed text is a best guess
The transcription of Mischendorf marriage records from the Mischendorf civil recording district
records is for the years 1895 to 1921 and consists of the complete transcription of the 735 marriage records.
Copyright remains with Patrick Kovacs.
Name spellings (both surname and given names) have been standardized in this dataset to allow easier searches; you
should check the original image for the exact form that appears in the records. [Standardized means only that a
single form of a given name, or of what is believed to be the same surname, is
used in the records, regardless of what was recorded.]
The Mischendorf civil recording district included all the villages in the Mischendorf
Catholic parish (see above) plus the villages of:
- Badersdorf (Hungarian: Pöszöny, Croatian: Pesem),
- Kohfidisch (Hungarian: Gyepufüzes, Croatian: Gornji Fide, Romanes: Fidescha),
The civil marriage records were digitized twice by FamilySearch, being available on the following sets of films;
the first was the source for this transcription:
familysearch.org/search/film/005036285 (1895-1921).
familysearch.org/search/film/007106065 (1895-1917), and
