The above is the site of the KSH KÖNYVTÁR (the Hungarian Central Statistical Office Library) and the location
includes the 1873, 1882, 1892, 1895, 1898, 1900, 1902 and 1907 editions, as well as the 1877, 1888, and 1913 editions we
list above as downloadable Gazetteers. However, the implementation of the KSH pages makes it quite
difficult to page/scroll through the gazetteers (except the 1913 edition, which is implemented as a single pdf file).
Instead, there is a quite-efficient
alphabetical location-name index ("Betűrend szerinti helységnévmutató" in Hungarian) that can
be accessed, after selecting a gazetteer, by clicking that Hungarian text in the section index on the left edge of a
Gazetteer page. In the alphabetical index, you can select an alphabetical section then scroll rapidly to the Hungarian
village name you desire. Alternatively, you can do a global search of all sections for a Hungarian-language
village name using the keresés [search] box (being sure to include all the appropriate accent marks
if searching). I will note that the indexed village names differ significantly between editions of the Gazetteers, so
some thought may need to go into determining which version is indexed (Hungarian name, German name, with modifiers
before or after the base name, etc.).
For help in reading the entries, many of the section indexes include a "Jelek és rövidítések magyarázata" entry
(explanation of signs and abbreviations; a key),
like we show below.
1888 Gazetteer Key (in Hungarian and German, with added English):
[Note: Each Gazetteer used a similar but slightly different key; only two are shown below.]
1913 Gazetteer Key (in Hungarian, with added English; left edge reconstructed):
