Zemendorf (Zemenye; Kroat: Cemindrof)
Village of 610 residents in the Mattersburg district.
Zemendorf is a village on the Wulka River that is under joint municipal administration with Stöttera
and Pöttelsdorf. The village is known for a wine trade, wood processing, and silo and machine
construction.
First mentioned in 1237, it was destroyed by the Turks in 1683. The Catholic church is Hl. Michael.
Lutheran and civil records are in Pöttelsdorf (LU: 700818; Civil: 700451-700454, 2352096-2352097).
Old tax records (Urbéri tabellák, 1767-1773) are on FamilySearch film # 1529868.
