Kris Bergstrom-Kok; Plaza, ND. THUERINGER,
LASCHITZ/LASCHING/NASCHITZ, HARRINGER, Pamhagen, all settled Minnesota (1886)- Religion: unknown, but Catholic likely. I know
very little about Joseph Thueringer and his wife, Barbara, other than what I have gleaned from census records. According to
census records, Joseph, born about 1851, and Barbara, born about 1855, emigrated in 1886 with their children Joseph, Frank, and
Stephen. There may have been a daughter, Maria, as well. Catherina, who is listed as Joseph's mother-in-law, may have traveled
with them in 1886; she is shown in the 1895 MN census with the last name Naschitz and in the 1900 census with the last name
Laschitz. On her daughter, Barbara's death certificate Catherine is given the last name Harringer. Joseph and Barbara's
daughter, Barbara, who was born in Minnesota, told her children she was German-Austrian. However, her parents reported they were
from Hungary (1895, 1910, 1920) or Germany (1900, 1905) on the census I've been able to locate. I found a ship's record showing
Barbara, her mother, Catherine, daughter Maria, and sons Franz and Steph arriving in New York 23 September 1886 and saying they
had begun their journey in Baumagen, Germany. Searching Baumagen, Germany gave me no results, so I tried Austria whereupon I
discovered Pamhagen, saw where it was on the map, and decided it could well be the homeland for the Thueringers that I've been
searching for so long.

moved to the Bronx with their parents in the 1950s, but I think Eva still lives in Vienna, she married a man named Karl and had
two daughters, Sabine and Belinda, who also still live in Vienna (I think). I'm trying to remember their last names. My mother
and Tante Anna Neppl have both passed away, my sister Leibgard lives in the Bronx and I live in Florida. If anyone has any info
on my family, I would greatly appreciate it. I attended gymnasium in Vienna for a year in the 1970s, we lived in the
Boltzmangasse in a family apartment, and I would love to bring my 19 year old son to see his family homeland some day. I used to
be fluent in German aber jetzt ist mein Deutsch sehr schlecht! Vielen Dank fur deine Hilfe!

great grandparents. This would be a wonderful "find" for the family history I'm writing. Thanks to whoever reads this and can
shed any light on these families!
