House Lists (Names & Number) per
Village
Surnames in Alphabetical Order
In addition to the family name (house) lists for each village, the following lists shows surnames in
alphabetical order with the time of their appearance. The surname lists are partly derived from "Albert's
Village Data" (thanks to Albert Schuch!) and Church birth records, but mostly from the "House Lists".
|
In the lists there are two kinds of entries: |
|
● Entries with a number in the first
column: |
The number is the count of families with a given name in the
village at the displayed time. A number indicates that the information is based on an (almost) complete list of
(house-owning) families for the village at that time, for example an "urbarium" or a "house list". |
● Entries without a number: |
No number indicates that the information is based on an
incomplete list of surnames for the village at that time.

"House Lists" (Name & Number) per Village
|
The second part of this page provides the "House Name Lists" per village which consist of the house numbers and the names
of the "head of house" of house-owning families and, in some cases, the name of a village part. The "House Lists" show the
state during 1856 to 1858, with some exceptions mentioned in the lists. If you cannot find your family's name in the list
of your village, most likely they did not own a house themselves but lived as subtenants in a farmhouse. The spelling of
the names is as in the original landregister and not always correct. The villages are in blocks according to today's
districts.
For a few villages, there is also a "vulgo" () name listed. In some villages also,
"Inwohner" () and other families not owning a house but property are listed.
A Translation of German terms which can be found in the lists.
